Greetings and welcome to Star Mission Academy (SMA) at Lake Gardens!

I am thrilled that you have decided to view our website in order to learn more about the wonderful students, staff, and programs we offer. SMA welcomes you to its world of children –an environment that spells love, care and affection. An Institution with a difference, SMA is co-educational English medium, housed now in a state of the art building at Lake Gardens, Kolkata with easy access to all major transport systems. We were previously Julian Day New Mission (JDNM) in Bhawanipur.

In last 9 years, we have created a legend, by successfully imparting main stream education to the children with special needs. It makes academic intervention to children with various types of learning differences to make them develop the skills and to become as independent as possible to succeed in the wider community. While doing so, we stress on overall development beyond merely academic curriculum. SMA operates under the umbrella of  Roopkatha Foundation, which is committed to work for an inclusive society.

We do everything possible to ensure that every child receives the best in terms of teaching, learning opportunities, curriculum, and excellent staff/child/parent relationships. We provide additional supports by way of after school one to one sessions, if and as required. We emphasis on a homely and friendly environment, child centric education and the best possible use of audio-visuals aids.

We make most sincere efforts to encourage the parents and involve them in the learning process of the children to boost up learning. Instead of traditional school diary, we use online school diary system to connect to all parents purposefully for both way communications on 24x7 basis.

Corona pandemic has taught us in a hard way. If a student cannot come to us for whatsoever reason, we will reach them. So we have introduced hybrid learning, where the teachers conduct both offline and online classes for the students simultaneously. Our classrooms in the new building are equipped with that.

I am proud to say that SMA plays an important role in training the young minds towards positive growth and is an Institution with a difference that makes a tangible change in the lives of young learners as they grow up.
